This was my first time at Haughley Park Barn, and what a place for a wedding…! The grounds are stunning, the setting is idyllic, and without doubt, if you are considering this venue for your wedding, go for it. It’s awesome here.
From the moment I arrived to photograph Claire and her bridal party getting ready, I just knew this would be a day to remember. Aside from the fact that Claire and Harvey are the sweetest, most fun couple you could wish to meet, everything was so cool, relaxed, and so chilled. The cottage you get to use when getting ready is ideal for photos. Plenty of room, lots of natural light, and so easy to get beautiful photos. Both inside, and out. I spent the whole morning with the bride, maids and brides mother, and knew from the banter and jokes that this whole day would be fun and full of laughter.
I then headed off to All Saints Church in Stanton for the wedding ceremony, and I got to spend some time with Harvey and his side of the family and the groomsmen’s. It’s always good to get some formal shots before the ceremony as it breaks up the photo sessions throughout the day, so you don’t feel like you are stood in front of a camera for too long. Needless to say, the jokes were even more in abundance with Harvey and especially his family. It’s weddings like this that I love. Just so much fun and laughter.
Although, I have to say that Harvey was looking so nervous as he waited at the front of the church for Claire to arrive – and his expressions when he saw her waling down the aisle with her father reminded me of just how much this means to the young men when they get married. It was very touching to see Harveys reaction, and no surprise really, Claire looks stunning in her dress.
With the formal ceremony at the church, we had a short drive to Haughley Park Barn for the wedding reception, and it is just perfect. You have a beautiful country home as your backdrop, huge gardens with a variety of flowers, open spaces, wooded areas, the pond, the old rustic barn – just too many to mention. I even threw the drone up in the air to get some amazing aerial photos and some cracking videos too.
Without doubt, I think everyone had a wonderful day, and I cannot thank Claire and Harvey enough for inviting me to share their special day.
Just wow!! From the moment we spoke to Simon we knew he would be the photographer for us. We could tell straight away that he was all about us and just wanted to help make our day as amazing as possible. That is exactly what he did; from the minute he arrived to the moment he left. Nothing was too much trouble. He came to the venue to get photos of the girls getting ready. He just blended into the background and we didn’t even know he was there half of the time, which is exactly what we had asked for. He then went to the church to meet the boys and he spent so much time getting to know all of the bridal party, he just became one of the guests and made everyone feel so at ease.
When we had our individual photos, it was sleek and smooth. Some people say that you can spend so long taking photos at a wedding, but this really was not the case. He gave us tips throughout the wedding day, and honestly everybody commented on how fantastic he was. Simon really is so lovely and funny, he made us smile from start to finish. We will never ever be able to say thank you enough to him and we are so grateful we came across his amazing work. If you want someone professional, personable and outright fabulous, don’t hesitate to book Simon. He even knew how to tie my dress and help me fix my hair!!! You are amazing Simon; from the bottom of our hearts, thank you thank you thank you!! Mr and Mrs Taylor 27.5.23 ❤️
