So far this summer, almost all of the weddings I have photographed have been warm and sunny. Hannah and Matt’s wedding at Leigh Park Hotel was no exception. With blue sky for almost all of the day, it was beautiful.

The bridal preparations were full of laughter with some rather funny faces pulled. Hannah and Matt’s kitten also put in an appearance and even granted me permission to take a few photos before disappearing. The morning preparations went so quickly, I think largely because of everyone laughing so much.

It was only a short drive to Leigh Park Hotel where I met up with Matt, his best man and ushers to get some of the formal photos of the lads before the ceremony starts. Leigh Park Hotel is one of the few hotels in the area that has a beautiful location for outdoor weddings – and with the blue sky, it was all set for a perfect day.

With guests arriving, and Matt looking slightly nervous (he said he wasn’t but I am not so sure) everything was set for Hannah’s arrival.

Hannah looked stunning in her dress and the bridesmaids dresses complimented her dress and flowers perfectly. After going through the usual with the registrars, Hannah was ready for the long walk across the grounds. It gave a wonderful opportunity for photographing her.

I would have to say that her bridesmaids had a ‘moment’ when doing the reading during the ceremony. A wedding is such an emotional day – and giggle through tears because you can’t get the words out always makes for a great photo opportunity. With a little help from dad the reading was finished and the ceremony got under way.

A few of the essential formal shots were taken at the front of the hotel in a relatively short time, which left plenty of time for mingling and spending time with family and friends. Leigh Park Hotel has some wonderful grounds for the bride and groom photos and the blue skies the setting made for some wonderful shots.

It was an emotional day for all today, and I felt very privileged to have been invited to photograph their special day. Part of what I love the most about photographing weddings is the people I meet, and with Hannah and Matt, their family and friends – I was fortunate to meet some truly wonderful people.

With the evening party well underway and some great fish-bowl shots, the day was over for me.

I wish them both well for the future, a beautiful couple to spend time with.
