I met Jennifer whilst on a round-the-world photographic trip back in 2006. We were both booked onto a sailing yatch through the Whitsunday Islands. Over the years we have kept in touch, and last year Jen contacted me to say she wanted me to photograph her wedding.
I met up with Jen and her fiance Derek in Lincoln when there were on a visit back to her parents from Texas. We had a wander around Lincoln Castle and the Old Palace Hotel to talk through a few of thier ideas and to go throguh the plan of the day.
When the day came, as I was booked into a local hotel, it was just a short 5 minute drive to the Hotel. Both Jen and Derek were staying at the Old Palace so I could move between both of them to capture shots of all the morning preparations and getting ready.
The wedding ceremony was inside the Judges Lodgings on Castle hill and is a beauiful place for the wedding. The bright interior made for some wonderful shots. The steps of the lodghings were the perfect place for the confetti shot and I’m so please at how the shots came out. Lincoln Cathedral provided a stunning backdrop for some shots as the weding party made their way up to the castle.
With so many locaitons for photos, I was spoilt for choice and we created some wonderful memories for Jen and Derek on their special day. After a blessing in the small chapel next to the hotel, the wedding breakfast and evening party took place inside the Old Palace.
The three of us nipped off for a few minutes to grab some shots around Lincoln Cathedral whilst their guests all checked in to their rooms.
